Prairie boys basketball league game vs Mountain View Thunder on February 10th at 7:00pm at Mountain View High school
After a tough loss to Mountain View earlier in the season, the Prairie boys basketball team came back with something to prove and that’s exactly what they did
Going in with high energy, Prairie secured a hard-fought win because of their strategic and determined mindset, games like this also come with pressure, but when talking to Andre Mbomba, he says, “To mentally prepare for this game, I listened to my favorite pre-game hype song “one dance” by drake to get the pressure off my back. Music is a good addition to a pre-game routine because it boosts energy and puts you in the right game mindset. Jamir Jones adds, “I didn’t feel pressure before going into this game because I’ve been practicing hard and making my shots.” When having confidence before games, it helps game outcomes for the better.
Sometimes coaches can be hard on their players because they think it’s the best thing but some might disagree. Andre Mbomba says, “My coach is good at balancing putting extra pressure on us but also motivating us, which is exactly what we need to succeed. When thinking about the win, Jamir Jones says, “I expected this win because we practiced hard and played our game.”
