The Prairie High School Track team led by Head Coach Karan Martin is ready to compete. When asked about his background, Coach Martin shared, “This is year number 18 for me coaching high school track.” His extensive experience underscores his dedication and deep understanding of the sport. Coach Martin revealed his favorite event: “The 4×4 relay.” He explained that this event holds a special place for him and highlights the strength of the Prairie team.
Looking ahead to the season, Coach Martin expressed confidence: “We return a lot of guys and a lot of girls on both teams, so we’re kind of expected to be pretty successful this year.” With a strong roster returning, expectations are high for Prairie’s track teams. When asked about any changes or new elements this season, Coach Martin replied, “Not a whole lot. We return a lot of athletes, so the core of the team remains the same.” This continuity could be a key factor in their competitive edge.
Coach Martin’s expectations are ambitious. “I expect the boys and girls teams to compete for district and league championships.” Such aspirations set the tone for a competitive and driven season. Regarding tough opponents, he noted, “Typically, Kelso is our hardest opponent. Over the last couple of years.”
