Prairie boys basketball’s second doubleheader of the season, December ninth win versus the 4A Unions Titans.
With a 1-1 record going into the game on 12/09 at Union, after a 104-54 win VS rival school, 4A Battleground at home and a loss at Arlington four days later the Prairie Falcons faced the Titans earlier than usual because the girls team was scheduled to play afterward. Regardless of the timing, the boys brought out their best, finishing with a leading score of 83-71.
With high goals for this group, academics come first. Senior Ben Nkansah, number 5, a key defensive leader, shares how he manages both school and basketball, “I have a strict schedule and try my best to stay organized,” Nkansah explains.
Junior number 22, Daniel Carbajal-Vargas adds insight about this Prairie team, “Before we go out to warmup, we pray together.” When asking the question ‘What are your future goals for this season?’ a popular answer comes up. “Make it to the dome,” Nkasah says. With the last two 4A Greater Saint Helens League (GSHL) games coming
up-against skyview at home on 12/11 and Camas at home on 12/18- the Falcons are eager to see where they’ll stand in the GSHL 3A/4A rankings.
