Goalie Of The Year: Lille Amies!

Goalie+Of+The+Year%3A+Lille+Amies%21

Lille Amies has been titled goalie of the year for all Clark County 3a high schools! Amies was featured in The Columbian along with other Prairie High School soccer players making first-team all-league. If you’ve attended a soccer game you can see why she’s goalie of the year and the impact she’s made on the team.

The 2023 girls’ soccer season has come to an end. The team did well this year and even made it to playoffs. There are 4 main areas in soccer such as goalkeeper, defense, midfield, and attack. Lille Amies is an incredible goalie for the Falcons and reflects Prairie’s values as a person, and a player.

Amies started playing soccer at a very young age. The senior said, “I started playing when I was 3 and I’ve been playing for 15 years.” She’s been playing club since 3 and high school since she was a freshman. She’s been on varsity since her freshman year. She worked hard for her spot and it shows!

Being on varsity since she was a freshman means she knows hard work and dedication. She has been there for all the moments, good and bad. Showing up to the early summer optional practices was hard, but she still went. She really showed up and showed out this year. Averaging about 10 saves per game, she really knew how to “save” a game.

This year is bittersweet for her since she’s a senior. She spent her last season with a team she loved. Amies tells us her favorite thing about the team. “I like that everyone is nice and that everyone has a good attitude with no drama.” Prairie will miss her as not only an athlete but as a student, and a great friend.
