Drama announces an exciting new play “Matilda The Musical”, So take a look out for those released dates as they continue to focus on their next production.
Josie Leyden, a junior who plays “ Matilda” is excited to share this part of the production and make the role of Matilda fun and engaging to the audience. She says ”The most exciting part of rehearsal so far has been when I received the role as Matilda and was like what! And right now we are slowly working through the show and really dive deep into the little things.”
As the title of the play lightens up the cast, Josie is eager to share to the audience that is interested in attending the upcoming show that” I hope they feel inspired.”.
Zoe Norton, a freshman, takes the role as “The big kid” known as a bully that aims to convey strong emotions. She states” My role is to show that when you’re stuck in the middle it gets hard because you have to act out all of the emotions you’re holding in.”Zoe is excited to contribute to the show and create a bond with the cast.
The Drama club recently went on a theater field trip that has drawn Zoe attention to be even more involved in theater. She states that” The backstory behind putting on a production was cool and talking to the actors backstage and seeing how they bond before walking on stage and after and how much work they truly put into the show is amazing.” Overall the inspiration from the show has made an impact on the cast.
