Spring break starts April 6th – April 10, and this week is spring spirit week where all students and staff bring in their spirit in participating to dress up and have fun.
Addison Juhnke, a sophomore, takes part of ASB as a community coordinator and is co-lead for the spirit assembly we have this week. Another sophomore that is in ASB is Jesse Driscoll who is sophomore class president. They are both involved in creating spirit days to bring everyone together to have a fun time that includes games and activities to start the break right.
Addison Juhnke always looks forward to participating in spirit weeks and her view on participation is ¨Not only dressing up but also making sure that I use this week as a week to promote confidence and courage to get other people to dress up and to push myself and others out of their comfort zone¨.
Her favorite highlight of the spirit days is jersey day on 3/30. Juhnke says ¨I really liked jersey day because you don´t often see other people dressing up and pushing themselves and others out of their comfort zone¨.
Jesse Driscoll way in participating in the spirit days is ¨I´ll look at what the spirit days are, and then I either make the best outfit I can out of it, or I go buy materials to participate, and then I also advertised a lot, maybe if I’m talking to someone I’ll tell them hey! We got this coming up, participate, or like I´ll drill into my friends who are lame and they aren´t dressed up.¨
Driscoll highly encourages others to join in the fun aspect here at Prairie High School he states that ¨You only do high school once, being nonchalant is lame because you should show people that you care about things. And I think you should live everything you do to your fullest, because you might not ever do it again, so really get involved¨.
