Prairie Highschool enters the 2025-26 wrestling season with a deep battle tested roster and heightened expectations aiming for championship hardware.
The long wait for wrestling is over especially for people such as Tommie Vick and Brody Wiard. These two enter their senior season as Varsity Captains and share their outlook on the upcoming season. Both Vick and Wiard were asked what their expectations are for their team for the upcoming season. Wiard shared “Winning a league and district title along with a top 10 finish at the state level” Vick shared “To be League champions and win all their duels”. This shows the high expectations for the team as its the result of all the work this program has been putting in.
The expectations Wiard and Vick have for themselves don’t fall short either, “Goal is to place at state” as Vick had done the previous two seasons. Wiard says “I want to be recognized for 1st team all league and become a state placer” He states. You would expect maintaining school and life outside of wrestling to be difficult but for these two it’s ordinary. As Vick and Wiard both play Fall and Spring sports at Prairie.
Behind these two and their experienced coaching staff Led by Rob Smith Prairie plans to turn what mishaps had been their last season into successes. Prairie will have its first action hosting Camas On December 9th and Battle Ground on December 10th.
