During the Prairie vs. Skyview high school volleyball game at prairie high school on thursday september 25th at 7pm, Alivia Snyder (1) and Yanna Tkachenko (6) put major work and effort to help the team take another win with their good communication on the court.
Alivia Snyder got some amazing kills during this game and boosted the team up a lot. During the second set Prairie started to have a lack of communication and miss-reading balls. But that did not stop any of them. One thing that kept them going Yanna Tkachenko said was “ let go of mistakes and be confident,” that is the goal they set for themselves going into the game.
One major thing that’s important for their team to win is having lots of energy and being loud and supportive. Alivia Snyder says “having a loud supporting student section gives me more energy and gets me more hyped to win.” Yanna Tkachenko also mentioned “having a loud and supportive student section motivates me to do better with the loud cheering , compared to when we’re getting cheered against.”
The student section motivates the players a lot and gives them more energy even if they don’t have any themselves. It’s always amazing to have a loud encouraging student section cheering for you.
The Prairie team always makes sure to scout and watch their opponents weak spots to know how to win easier and smarter. Something important the volleyball team does is have their pre-game talks, they go over what they practiced during their practices and what areas to be careful at from watching film. This game went well because the team connected well and got to run some good balls.
A strategy that went well for the team that game was running their “xplay” when the outside comes in for a quick set. Snyder’s biggest contribution to the team is being loud and encouraging while being disciplined and smart in the game.
The team’s game plan was to stay confident and not collapse when getting pushed back. Prairies volleyball team warmups with intentions to win and to get scared or worried of the other team no matter how good their warmup is. They did a good job of siding-out and staying focused, not letting anything bother them and get too behind. They wanted to keep the streak of their wins and get to state.
Prairie is a very strong and confident team having almost an undefeated season. Yanna Tkacheko is a 2nd team all league player, shes brought a lot of good points to the team as well. Alivia Snyder is a 1st team all league player, she put lots of dedication to volleyball over her high school years and put her everything into this season.
