Every year it becomes increasingly difficult to choose a class that sparks any sort of interest, to help with the stress of picking another class, we interviewed an Introduction to Business class to give a preview of their Disney Imagineer project

When starting the interviews, a particular student jumped at the chance to be questioned. “I really like this class” Peyton Cassinelli, a senior at Prairie explained “Taking this class with friends really adds to the fun I have.”

After a brief discussion of his appreciation for his class, Peyton discussed what his project was about “It’s about making a Disney ride concept” Peyton clarified that the project required a group of four with “A constant need for cooperation,” he mentions other students coming up with ideas such as a Rio or a Wall-E ride, but his ride was a Starwars interactive race that he was proud of he showed a lot of creativity explaining his ride however, the restrictions of the project were not explained in detail and instead, the interview continued with the teacher of the class.

Jennifer Engelbart who had just started teaching at Prairie this year described the project as a “unit test for students to create and research a missing ride from Disneylands portfolio.” Mrs.Englebart elaborates on how the project worked, which starts through the use of polls to gain information on things such as what rides potential guests may want in a ride, what franchise guests are interested in, how much guests may be willing to spend, and how long guests would stay.

This information would determine what coaster students would be able to construct and later create a name, and slogan, and decide an advertising strategy for. Students would also need to create concepts for the ride and explain why the ride was unique to Disney and later present it to the class as if it were an actual concept to Disney Imagineers.

The end of the interview with Mrs.Englebart focused on her feelings toward the project being her first time teaching an introduction to business class she stated “I really like this project, I think it turned out well for my first time,” Mrs. Englebart also discussed how students received the project grade to which she replied “I would say I had a range anywhere from the sixties all the way up to a ninety-one,” to conclude our interview we took a photo with Mrs. Englebart captivating the student’s full attention to show how intriguing the class can be.
