2 students at Prairie High School share a glimpse of their daily school life/routine.
Students usually keep a consistent routine throughout their school week to maintain an easy morning, especially before school. For students at Prairie, the school day begins at 7:55. When asking junior Ellie Moore, she says, “I wake up at 6:55 everyday, wake up, brush my teeth and wash my face, pick my outfit and do my makeup, same thing everyday and I leave my house at around 7:35 everyday since I live pretty close.” Junior Allison Le says, “I wake up at 6:25 everyday to change, do my skincare and brush my teeth, eat breakfast and leave my house by 7:15 since it takes me a little while to get here.”
When looking at how a full day looks for students, Moore says, “After my 6 class school day at Prairie, I go home and usually unpack my bag, eat food, take a nap and start getting ready for volleyball practice by 6:30pm. After that I come home, shower, finish up homework if I have any and then head to bed by 11pm. Unlike Ellie, Le adds that she does running start. She says, “My day involves 1st period at Prairie and then after that I go to starbucks, head home and then start working on my other classes at Clark. Usually my day gets done at around 1-3pm and I head to work at around 3:30. After that I get home around 7-8pm and spend time with my friends or watch shows before I shower and head to bed at around 10:30pm.
Moore and Le show that there isn’t just one way to experience a day at Prairie High School. Whether it’s Moore balancing a full six-class schedule with volleyball or Le juggling Running start classes at Clark with a part-time job, both students have to be disciplined with how they manage their time.
