Dairy Queen’s new December menu items were released on October 27, 2025, with some brand new items and flavors added to their collection, as well as a few returning favorites to start off the holiday season.

This year’s holiday season lineup features the brand new Holiday Nog Shake and the Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard, which took first place as December’s Blizzard of the month. The Nog Shake consists of eggnog and nutmeg blended with Dairy Queen’s signature ice cream, as the Sugar Cookie Blizzard has a mix of sprinkles and sugar cookie pieces. These warm and nostalgic options of different flavors are appealing to anyone looking for something cozy, sugary, and fun to celebrate the upcoming holidays. 

These new items have quickly grabbed the attention of Prairie High School’s students. Daphne Dirks, a senior, is especially thrilled about the new holiday menu, “The Holiday Eggnog Shake is my favorite, it’s amazing and tastes really good,” Dirks says, “I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet.” Many students at Prairie High School say their festive treats are perfect after a long hardworking day at school. The closest Dairy Queen is just a few minutes away from campus, which makes it very popular amongst our students.

Another senior, Kbreelyn Karuo, said the Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard is her first pick from the new lineup, “My favorite is the Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard because I love sugar cookies,” Karuo explains, “It tastes like Christmas but in ice cream form with hints of strawberry, it really gets me in the holiday spirit.” Dairy Queen is no longer just an ice cream place, it’s become a place for students to grab a blizzard after school, hangout with friends, or reward themselves with a sweet treat. 

Overall, the festive holiday menu provides our students with something exciting to look forward to, especially during the busiest and most stressful time of the year, the close end of the semester. It’s become a great place for students to go to relax, socialize, and get a break from their busy schedules. These warm and cozy treats bring some comfort and excitement to our campus. As the semester comes to an end, many students make their way towards Dairy Queen to relax, regain their energy, and enjoy the holiday season.
