Olin Cecil, Staff Writer

“Give your heart, but keep your head.”

Olin Cecil, football player, student, son, friend, Olin Cecil is many things but who is he? Through his admiration and respect for his friend he has dedicated his life to his sport, football. Since the beginning of Olin’s Highschool career, Olin has been playing football with his friends at Prairie Highschool. “My dad always wanted me to play football, my friends did too, so playing football was easy.” Olin explains that his father has always had a deep passion for the sport when Olin was growing up, his friends in 8th grade were planning to try-out for the team their freshmen year. These factors gave Olin in his mind the clear decision to try-out for himself. Once part of the Prairie football team, Olin has been playing under the Wide Receiver position for the majority of his high school football career.

When asked about his Senior year of high school, Olin was primarily appreciative of his freedoms as an Upperclassmen at the end of his academic career. Relating to his Journalism class with Mrs. Alway, he expresses that “her class is full of a bunch of cool new people” relating to Mrs. Alway as a teacher and her 5th period students. When questioned about how he envisions and feels about his future after high school, he feels he “wants to be succeeding in life” expressing his desire for financial stability and freedom. Concerning his professional career and the probability of an education past high school, he plans to “be under an internship or trade school” Olin wishes to be a plumber and has connections through his brother for possible internships but is willing to apply for trade school for this profession.

What was Olin Cecil seen as before, simply my school’s football player but, who is Olin Celil? Olin Cecil is many things. The Wide Receiver of his varsity high school football team, a Prairie High School Senior, an aspiring Plumber, but above all he is a friend. A good friend to many and has the deepest admiration and respect for his friends.
