Nate Merritt, Staff Writer
Team player Nate Merritt is a senior student at Prairie High School, Washington on the Miss Always Journalism team, and today I had the opportunity to interview one of my colleagues on his life and aspirations for the future.
We quickly began to speak about his roots growing up.“I've lived in Olympia, (Washington) most of my life.” when asked further about Washington and where he would like to live he mentioned that he loved Washington weather citing the “Rain or Shine” of the state. A close second for him is his favorite vacation spot Florida for its sweet rays, though he admits that “the humidity is not fun.” and we both agreed with a laugh.
Moving further into his personal life, I looked into what he thinks of his style. Simple, but different.” when further asked he added that it's “Not the same thing every day.” I noticed his baseball cap to which he mentioned that he plays baseball as the pitcher and first base in his pastime. While we continued talking about sports the conversation moved towards pets, specifically two dogs, Remington and Kimberly who are ecstatic anytime he gets home.
Nate plans to focus on a career in criminal justice or sports statistics because he loves analyzing and math.
