Boys varsity wrestling took on the Wyatt draper tournament this past weekend in Yakama, Wa. The Draper Tournament was a great community builder and example of community , showing hard work and showing up pays off.
Prairie High School placer consisted of Tommie Vick placing. 1st. Luke Sturdivant placing 3rd. Brody Wiard placing 3rd. Artem Kulaha placing 3rd, Remington Hewes placing 4th. Five out of nine Wrestlers placing!
The Prairie Wrestling program was incrediblely proud of these hard working athletes. Senior Captain Brody Wiard expresses ‘’Showing up everyday at practice was the preparation and was a great way to kick off the season’’Prairie Boys Wrestling is well represented by our captain. That takes on these tournaments showing leadership, sportsmanship and support. ‘’ Our captains showed leadership by dominating their matches and settings example for the team to look up to.’’ Senior Wrestler Skylar Dassinger explained.
The Team accountability was well represented after each match the boys would help and support their team. Varsity Senior Captain Tommy Vick wants to notice Artem Kulaha He further explains ‘’A highlight is watching Artem win his match he doesn’t talk much but his face always lights up after a win’’.
Prairie boys Wrestling takes every opportunity for success and knowledge. We are incredibly proud of the performance Prairie overall team placed 5th with 17 schools represented. Go falcons!
