Out of 40 random PHS students, 70% of them have jobs that they work after school, and on weekends, they work at many different places for a variety of reasons. Are you curious how students manage school, free time, and work?

“I only work 2 or 3 days a week, so I have plenty of free time, and I do my homework at work.” Senior Nolan Hutchinson talked about how he manages his time while working at Toms Urban in Ilani Casino.

Most jobs are pretty understanding when it comes to teenagers, knowing that they have other things going on that are important to them that might not be important to an adult. Plus, teenagers under 18, are only legally allowed to work 20 hours a week, or 28 with some exceptions.

Students have jobs for many different reasons, some need to have jobs, and some just like working. “Having money is very nice,” Senior Nick Cuneta says is his motivation to keep working, “I like not having to go to my parents for money and things.”

For students who are looking to get jobs, and those of you who might be scared to get one, it looks like they do not get in the way of school and free time very much while you are in school.
