On March 4th, 2023, Prairie High School hosted their annual spring dance. The
dance spanned from 7-9:30pm and was held at Prairie High School.

Formerly known as “tolo,” the dance occurs in the spring. Students can choose to dress
in semi-formal attire, or they have the option to dress to the theme. The theme has
been announced two weeks before the dance will take place, and the winner was “disco
down.” The tickets are being sold in the ASB office, $8 with an ASB card and $10
without.

This year, the ASB class has been hard at work planning the dance for the students to
enjoy. Kelly Luamaphasy, an ASB student has done a lot for the school this year. She
was chosen to plan the upcoming dance. Kelly explained, “We asked the school what
they wanted to see and what they hoped for, then we picked the top 5 themes and sent
out the form to the students.” When asked if the dance was difficult to plan she said, “I
think it was more laid back because it wasn’t a very formal dance so we had a lot of
room to work with and you get to have more fun with it.”

Curious of what the students thought about the dance, Lucy Wilkerson, a freshman at
Prairie, had some information to share. She said she would be attending the dance this
weekend. When asked how she feels about the price of tickets she said, “I think they’re
fair.” She is excited to “meet up with friends and have the time of her life.”
Prairie students seem excited about the upcoming dance. There has been talk around
the school about what to wear, and what the students plan to do at the dance. Everyone
is anxious and excited for what is to come. See you there, Falcons!
