The Drama club at Prairie High School will be presenting a play titled “The Prom” on March 7th and 8th at the school’s auditorium. If folks are available, feel free to stop by and watch this amazing play.
I had the opportunity to chat with our talented Drama Club members and dig deeper into the production process. The team starts preparing for a new play immediately after completing the current one, with rehearsal periods taking up an “average of six hours,” as shared by Oliver Hoffman, one of the drama club members. There are criteria to be a member of the club including some knowledge about drama and you are required to take some classes related to drama to participate in the play. If you wish to attend this remarkable play, it involves a ticket fee, which stands at “$16 for Adults, $13 for Senior Citizens, and a special rate of $7 for students,” per Oliver Hoffman. The Drama club also has a dedicated team of 15 volunteers who support them with their costumes, ranging from fancy to comfortable attire.
In summary, the Prairie High School’s Drama Club is more than an extracurricular activity; it provides a platform of fun and entertainment for the audience and students at Prairie High School. For the team to deliver exceptional performances, it requires commitment, dedication, and collective effort from all members of the Drama Club. Not only does it provide entertainment, but it also fosters a fun environment for both the audience and students at Prairie High School. The Drama Club will continue to put on more plays in the future so please do come and support them.
