Finally, Prairie High School is going to have its first track meet of 2025. Prairie High School’s track team has been looking forward to the upcoming track event, and it’s finally happening. In this article, we have two special guests from the Prairie High School track team, Daniel Infante and Will Foster. We first asked Daniel and Will if they were ready for this upcoming track event, here’s what they had to say. “YES! I am so ready for this track meet, I’ve been waiting for our track meet of 2025. I just know that I’m going to have a good time.” Said Daniel. On the other hand, Will said, “I am more than ready for this track meet, I’m just really happy that we are finally having our first track meet of 2025.” It seems like we are going to have a great track season this year.
Obviously, before competing in the first track meet of the year, you gotta prepare for the challenges. When running and throwing for track and field, form and technique are the two most important aspects of track and field. Daniel said, “I’ve been trying to improve my endurance. I also need to work on my sprinting technique and form, especially when it comes to my striding.” (Striding is when you sprint with short, controlled bursts of fast running). Strides are used to improve the running economy. “I also tend to clench my fist when I am sprinting, so that’s something I could work on too.” Said Daniel. When you are sprinting tensed up, you are slowing yourself down. “Relaxed running is fast running.” Said Coach Hays. Will said, “I’ve been working on my strength, technique, and form. I am already good at what I do, but obviously, there is always room for more improvements.”
We ask both Will and Daniel what their go-to game plan is. Daniel said, “My plan is very simple. When I get on that track, I’m going to relax my body and start sprinting like I’m about to die.” If you didn’t know, Daniel is a Sprinter for the Prairie High School track team. On the other hand, Will said. “I’m going to just focus on my form and technique to get the best performance out of myself, that’s the most important aspect of shot put.” No matter how good you are at something, there is always room for more improvement. Daniel said. “I definitely could work on not tensing up my body while sprinting, especially my fists.” Will said, “I could relax my body more and just go with the flow.” Overall, Daniel and Will are very confident about the upcoming track meet. Daniel said. “I know I’m gonna do good. I don’t expect anything crazy from myself, but I am going to put in 101% effort.” Will said, “I am very confident that I will perform well. I’m not expecting to go insane, but I know that I’m gonna do good.
