
Prairie High School’s basketball team, The Prairie Falcons, went against The Eastside Catholic Crusaders for their final game this season. The Prairie Falcons took a loss against The Catholic Crusaders by two points. But, The Prairie Falcons still have a positive win rate with 17 wins and nine losses this season. Compared to The Catholic Crusaders, Prairie Falcons are doing better than them.
The results of the game were very close. The Prairie Falcons took a final loss by two points. The final score was 50-52, with The Catholic Crusaders taking the victory. The Prairie Falcons hadn’t had a close loss like this since December 14th, 2024 on Saturday. The Prairie Falcon’s game against The Catholic Crusaders has marked Prairie’s lowest-scoring game so far this season. As of right now, The Prairie Falcons do not have any more games scheduled for this season. The Catholic Crusaders still have a chance to bump up their win rate to a positive win rate. But, The Catholic Crusader’s win rate won’t compare to the Prairie Falcon’s win rate. The Prairie Falcons ended their season with 17 wins and nine losses while the Catholic Crusades have 14 wins and 15 losses.
In this article, we will hear from two of Prairie’s varsity basketball players. First, we hear from Riley Burke and Jared Femling, both on Prairie’s varsity basketball team for The Prairie Falcons. There were definitely some improvements that could be made. “Cardio is one of the major factors I struggled with, I definitely need to work on my cardio to improve my endurance.” Said Riley. Your endurance is very important when it comes to basketball since you are running up and down the court the entire time. Overall, team improvements are needed too. “Our team can definitely put some work into our strategy and communication.” Said Jared. Folding under pressure was a pretty big problem for The Prairie Falcons. “We do need to work on keeping our composure while under pressure.” Said Riley.
Overall, at least there was good preparation for the game. “I mainly worked on my layups and shooting technique for the game.” Said Jared. Riley said, “I prioritized working on our drills and ball work/control.” Even though The Prairie Falcons lost, doesn’t mean the team was under performing, every player who played definitely put all of their effort into the game. Riley said, “I am very confident that I performed well, I put 101 percent effort into the game.” Although The Prairie Falcons took a loss for their final game, they still have eight more wins than their losses. At the end of the day, it’s not always about winning. Even with the loss, The Prairie Falcons will always learn something new.
