As the Girls’ 2024-25 basketball season comes to a start, they also begin a start with Michael Roberts, the new Girls’ varsity basketball coach.
Michael Roberts brings knowledge and passion to basketball. The team believes that Roberts will bring Prairie High School back to what it was, winning championship state titles and hopefully winning League this year.
The program as a whole is so excited to be welcoming Roberts to Prairie High School and see what he will bring this coming season to the team of Girls’. Although basketball hasn’t started, It’s already looking promising that they will create a great group, come together, and put in the hard work to get to where they want to go.
Searching for a new head coach for the Girls’ was pretty challenging, wanting to find someone who has the time, is flexible, and can create good relationships with high school students. The Girls’ team believes they have found someone who will do just that and hope to have Roberts around for a long time. “ He has the coaching staff and the players and has the vision to create a program again,” Stephanie Watts says. Roberts is a young coach who wants to take Prairie back to winning Championships state titles and coaching for the Girls’ team will impact his career in many great ways.
Prairie Girls’ Basketball is so thrilled to see how this school year for basketball will play out now that they have a new addition to the team and can’t wait to see how Roberts will impact the sport of basketball at Prairie.
In hopes to reach the goals that they have set for themselves as a whole team and individually. “I love to see how they evolve over the seasons. You get really invested when you know the kids so it makes it really exciting to watch.” Watts states.
