With the 2024 fall league volleyball season coming to an end, this team has hopes to head to state this upcoming weekend, Nov. 22 and 23, and come out with a dominant win. These girls have finished with an overall league record of 8-0.
Heading into this season, the team would practice 5 days a week to prepare for games. “Practice typically involves doing daily BRED (breaking records every day), which is a pepper-based warm up, moving on to serve and receive, and working on specific plays, then ending with a competitive play.” Senior, Marissa Raley (6), who’s been a part of this volleyball program since freshman year states. This team shows dedication by coming in every day and putting in the hard work.
This team has had many accomplishments but also many challenges. “A major difference for this season is our team has better chemistry as well as mental toughness.” Senior captain, Emilee Natiola (4) states. With several injuries throughout the team, the team must be diverse and willing to step up in different positions. The main reason this team has been so successful this year is because they trust each other as well as their mutual understanding of what it takes to win.
It shows that on this team no matter if you’re on the court or the bench, everyone is valued the same. Each player contributes to the overall success of the season during both practices and games. With State being this upcoming weekend, this team has put their blood, sweat, and tears for this moment.
