Prairie High School football team takes 3rd in 3A Greater St. Helens League after a (5-4) (3-2 League) 2024 season.
The boys have put in all their hard work throughout the whole season. This team has had a reputation for being a close-bonded team. No matter what happens on the field these boys will always have each other’s back, which shows in games.
Throughout this season they have had many accomplishments such as beating their rival school, Battle Ground High School, as well as Moutain View which hasn’t happened in 16 years.
Taylor Gause, a Senior, on varsity, says “Beating Battleground was definitely my favorite game this season because it felt good to have a comeback” with Battle Ground being Prairie’s rival school. One of the main goals is to defeat their team which was a big win in the eyes of the Falcons.
Isaac Watson, a Senior on varsity says “After beating BG our coach, Ben Kapelka hosted a team steak dinner as a reward” This game meant a lot to the players and coaches after getting blown out last season against them, 42-7.
The junior players this season will be dominant players in the upcoming year like Deven Vigue (3). He has much love for this sport and will help the program move forward.
