Prairie Girls Soccer just finished their intense 2024 soccer season. These athletes gave it all this season, and their hard work paid off.
Heading into this year’s season, one of the team’s main goals was to focus on the smaller details of the game. Senior, Avery Hoskins who has been apart of the Prairie Girls Soccer team for 3 years states, “Our team’s main goal this season is to focus on the smaller details of the game, as simple as just how we were passing the ball. We struggled a bit from time to time but overall we did achieve that goal.”
This year the Lady Falcons have found success as well as hardships on the field, winning many games including Evergreen, Heritage, and Battleground, and making it to the Playoffs. On September 26th Prairie took on their rivals Battleground, winning 2-1. Captain, Hoskins scoring 2 of 2 goals on the field gives her insight on this game, revealing the challenges they faced to achieve their win. “Battleground was the most difficult and what made us push through was not only was it our rival, but we had been having a tough time previously in the pre-season and we also were focusing most on playing for each other.”
With many wins comes many challenges. In particular, being a captain can be one of the most rewarding jobs, yet the biggest responsibilities. Senior, Jules Staley reveals one of the struggles she came across this season being one of Prairie Girls Soccer captains. “Being a captain was such an amazing experience for me but one of the hardest things about it was definitely trying to keep the team focused. Everyone this season was incredibly close which made practices so much fun, team chemistry is definitely important during games, but sometimes keeping players on task during warm-ups and practices was difficult to make sure all players were doing their jobs.”
These Falcons put blood, sweat, and tears into their season and have earned their wins, congratulations Ladies!
