Just finished a stellar season this fall esports, playing new titles like Street Fighter 6, 0-5, and Overwatch 2, 5-0. Both teams are led by Simeon Rydberg, the Esports coach, who has 4 years of coaching experience under his belt. Another worthy mention is Brasharee White Junior, who also has many years of gaming experience under his belt.
This season was new for many on the esports team due to the addition of two games, Street Fighter 6 and Overwatch 2. Many people on the team have previously played in these titles, but they still proved challenging to compete.
Simeon Redberg, a coach for Prairie came into the season with mixed expectations of his team and players for the new games they faced. Most of which being Overwatch 2, but to his surprise, a new member of the esports team Cody Sigler stepped up to the plate dominating the competition and pushing his team to an undefeated season in overwatch, Simeon says “Cody for being a first-year senior has fit into the team seamlessly, he often surpasses my expectations during matches.”
Brasharee White, Junior has been on the team for 3 years and recounts this season as nothing short of amazing, he enjoys playing with his friends, coach, and team. One of Brasharee’s main highlights and takeaways from this season is beating Lake Stevens 2-1 in Overwatch for the top of the division where he recounts “We simply wanted to be known as the better team.” Brasharee looks forward to seeing how many people around him grow better and work in the offseason.
Both Simeon and Brasharee had the same thing to say regarding new players or people looking to join esports. Simeon Redberg- “Come out and see if you like it, take it one step at a time”.
Brasharee white- “I recommend sinking your time into a game before joining even if you aren’t good all it takes is 20 minutes a day.”
