A Positive Offseason Leads To Playoff Hopes
After a hard 2022-23 season the (6-19) Prairie boys basketball team is hoping for the bounce back everyone has been anticipating going into their 23-24 campaign.
During last year students and fans noticed low scoring and high foul games from the Falcons. Senior shooting guard Brendan Carter blames last season on team chemistry. “It was a big chemistry thing, we had the talent for sure. We couldn’t put it together and it really showed.”
This summer the boys’ practices have mainly focused on perfecting basic skills and team bonding. Players have been devoted to building relationships with each other and coaches in and out of team practices.
Solomon Ogbeama a 4 year varsity shooting guard and point guard is certain Prairie will be playing the best basketball they have in years. “We feel like we’re the best in our league, the only team we have our eyes on is Mountain View.”
The 2023-24 Prairie Basketball season is set to begin on November 28th with the Mount Tahoma Thunderbirds coming to The Nest for a 7 pm tip-off.
