April, the famous tax month, greets us with an exciting twist at Prairie High School. Our Finance Classes have planned a delightful and educational Egg Hunt across the campus this season! I have had the privilege of speaking to the host of the upcoming Egg Hunt event at our school and wanted to share some illuminating details with you.
The Egg Hunt is not just an ordinary school event but a unique exercise designed to entertain and educate. “The Eggs will be placed all around campus, mainly in dry locations since they are paper,” states Jennifer Englebart. Here’s how it will work: Mrs. Englebart’s finance classes will take turns hiding the eggs weekly for the rest of April. This week, it’s the 3rd-period students; next week, it will be the 4th-period, ultimately culminating with the 5th-period students in the month’s final week.
Just imagine scanning a QR code on an egg and getting a dose of wisdom on financial literacy. Per Jennifer Englebart, you will get “Financial Advice or have the Golden Egg.” Once you have the golden egg, you will take it to room 307, where Mrs. Englebart will present you with an award for finding it.
As we celebrate Financial Literacy Month this April, we hope this Egg Hunt makes learning fun and helps us all better understand finance. Winning prizes is certainly cool, but learning life-long financial lessons that prepare us for our future is the true treasure.
