Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and I decided to ask a few students at Prairie High School about their opinions and feelings on the romantic holiday. Some students are in a relationship, and you have students who are single and treat the day as a normal day.
I wanted to highlight two students that I interviewed and their feelings about the holiday. Kaylee Starkweather, a Sophomore Student, has no interest in Valentine’s Day. At the same time, when I gave her Scenario questions, she would spend time letting her partner decide their activities on Valentine’s Day. Additionally, her favorite sweets are ¨anything with chocolate in it¨ Kaylee states. The second student I interviewed, Parker Hughes, another Sophomore Student, also has no interest in Valentine’s Day, however, he would gift his valentine a Box of Chocolates and enjoys hanging out with his family on the holiday. He also shares that his favorite flowers are ¨White Roses¨ Parker states.
In conclusion, Valentine’s Day is not considered a holiday by everyone, and some students choose not to celebrate. At the same time, others celebrate it with their partners, friends, and family members, as this is a great opportunity to share love and appreciation.
