Every new year brings events and trends that rock the world. A New Year’s tradition of making resolutions for the upcoming year is one of the biggest things at the start of every year.
With winter break ending and the end of the first semester coming up soon, I interviewed students at Prairie High School to find out what they are looking forward to. Tristan Danner, junior, a varsity football player at Prairie High School, talked about his plans for the rest of the year and his summer. “Not really any big plans, I might go down to Arizona this summer and might go back to Florida.” Danner is also excited about what he wants to do after high school because he will be a senior next year.
Vladyslav Danylyluk, senior, a varsity boys swimmer at Prairie High School, said that he is mostly looking forward to graduation. When asked what he meant by that, Danylyuk stated, “I’m looking forward to the next steps of my life, to pursue my career goals in academics and athletics in college.”
A big part of New Year’s is New Year’s resolutions. Danner was asked what his resolution was this year, he stated, “I put down to spend less time on my phone.” When Danylyuk was asked this same question, he said, “I don’t make New Year’s resolutions. New Year’s resolutions are for people who have problems with their life initially.”
