Newest Jellycat trend takes Prairie High School by storm.
During our most recent winter spirit week or after winter break, you may have seen the hallways crowded with Jellycats! Whether they were accompanying for sidekick day or an addition to a Christmas gift basket, these fuzzy friends were a large hit at Prairie.
Jellycats are a popular brand of stuffed animals. They are very appealing with their cute faces and unique funky appearance. Jellycat stuffed animals come in different shapes such as animals, fruits, sports balls, and other miscellaneous items. This is part of the reason why that makes a great gift as you can get a special Jellycat specific for your recipient’s personal interests. Senior Ellie Ogle is one of many Jellycat fans here at Prairie. “I love my stuffed animals to have little personalities and you can really see that through their faces.” Ogle expresses.
On the other hand, Jellycats are somewhat controversial because of their steep price tag. Jellycats can range from around $30 to $40 for a medium-sized plush which may seem like a lot for a stuffed animal. However, their popularity and appeal seem to put this factor aside. Jackson Grant who is also a Senior is among several who gift Jellycats to his loved ones “Jellycats make a good gift because if it makes the other person happy then that’s all that really matters.” Grant says.
Currently, the craze for Jellycats especially at Prairie is very strong. Many people are starting small collections and participating in Jellycat exchanges. Jellycats are perfect for all ages and demographics so it is unpredictable whether this will just be a trend or a permanent staple.
