Black Rock Coffee will be doing its annual Staff and Student deal every Tuesday throughout the school year and is available at all Black Rock locations. Falcons along with other schools can get $4 fuel or coffee-based drinks by simply showing a valid student or staff ID.
With only 146 locations across 7 states, Blackrock began their deal on Aug. 31, 2021, to go on every Tuesday with the starting price being $2.50. It is becoming a big hit for their company, which brings much attraction to shops all around. The deal is available to students ranging from middle school to college as well as staff.
Mrs. Alway, a favorite amongst journalism students and a frequent user of the staff and student deal, agrees that it is a definite plus for the company but believes it benefits them more than the actual customer. “ I don’t think it’s helpful because of the caffeine content, but I do think it’s helpful for their marketing plan” she states. Student Isaiah Ojeda agrees saying, “Personally I think it benefits the company because many students means more sales for Black Rock.”
“Most students don’t have an income or don’t have the best income, so in a way, I guess it does save you some money on an already pricey drink,” Ojeda adds.
Inflation is causing many companies to increase their prices and Black Rock was one of them. When asked if he would still visit if the price increases again in the following years, Ojeda comments, “No I wouldn’t go, I sort of rely on the deal to save me some money, the only day I mostly go is Tuesdays to save me as much as I can and the price increase just makes the price almost as the original.” On the contrary, Alway states, “Yes I would. The biggest thing is I take advantage since I can ask one of my students to go for me but it doesn’t make any difference than any other day, just a guarantee that they will for sure go on Tuesday.” This is a topic that people would disagree on, but what do you think falcons? Would you still use the deal even with a price increase?
