Tori Sharpe is a new teacher at Prairie High School who transferred from Skyview High School. Tori is a coach as well as a teacher participating in the new Multi Linguistic program. Before transferring to Prairie she taught at Skyview with 16 years of experience. Now at Prairie, she loves all her coworkers, especially one in particular, Kyle Sharpe, who is her husband.
Tori Sharpe participated in Girl’s Wrestling when she was in high school a while back, attending Skyview High School from freshman to senior year in 1997 to 2001. This sparked her enthusiasm to coach the Girl’s Wrestling team, as well as also helping out with Prairie Girls Soccer.
Sharpe is a teacher who helps new students who come from other countries. Teaching them English and language arts. Tori claims that “The support for the program I am a part of, so the Multilingual program supports us so much more.” is the main reason for the transfer from Skyview to Prairie.
Although working with her husband is great, she also enjoys the atmosphere. While at Prairie Tori has noticed some major positive changes from one school to the other. The atmosphere is very different from each other. Tori enjoys the aspect of all the students being involved in everything whether that be in sports, announcements, or activities. Tori states “Like I can see everything like I know what’s going on because you can see it walking around.” referencing all the posters around the school and the excitement on kid’s faces. Her husband Kyle Sharpe also believes she is happier with the change of school stating that “They put a lot of trust in her which she appreciates.”
Being the new teacher as well as coach at a new school can be rough but it is easy when you are supported more by the program you truly believe in and have an enjoyable experience at school.
