Track Districts Recap

The 2022 district track meet took place last week with a 4th place finish by the mens team and a 1st place finish for the women.

The Women’s track team put up a total of 104 team points, earning them the district title. The leading scorers for the falcons were Senior Briana Morrell (1st in the 100 and the 200), Senior Morgan Hill ( 2nd in the 200 and the 400), Senior Suzie Johnson ( 1st in the 800 and 2nd in the 1600) and Senior Kara Mattson (1st in 100 hurdles, long jump, and 2nd in triple jump). The Falcons also took first place in the 4×100 (Ally Jensen, Brianna Morrel, Morgan Hill, Sarah Neal), the 4×200 (Olivia Jones, Emma High, Julianne Staley, Brianna Morrel), and the 4×400 (Morgan Hill, Olivia Jones, Emma High, Suzie Johnson).

The Men’s track team put up a total of 44 points which earned them 4th place in the district. The leading scorers for the falcons were Ethan Cabral (2nd in the 400 and 5th in the 800), Solomon Ogbeama (1st in the 300 hurdles and 8th in the 100), Alex ford ( 3rd in the 110 hurdles and high jump, 7th in the long jump) Evan Davis ( 2nd in triple jump and 5th in long jump). The 4×400 relay team ( Vladyslav Danylyuk, Ethan Cabral, Evan Davis, Ayden Walker) took first place with a time of 3:36.

The Falcons look to take this momentum into next week where they participate in sub districts to hopefully cement their spot in the state track meet.
