The girls softball team qualified for state after winning one game on Thursday, May 16, and two games on Saturday, May 18.

The team was put into the losers bracket after they lost their first game against Timberline on Thursday. This meant that they had to win every game after that in order to qualify for state. After three tough games, the team was able to push through and win all three, and even send their rival, Kelso, home. Senior Maddie Graham noted how great it is to have made it to state for her last senior season. “It feels great to have made it to state for my final season. We have been preparing for this all season and now all our hard work has finally paid off.” For Freshman, Alysia Fraly, this is a whole new feeling for her. “I have obviously never been to state so I am excited to experience it and hopefully get far for our seniors.”

Despite being happy about just making it to state, Graham has high expectations for what she wants to the team to accomplish. “I really want to place high in state and hopefully bring home a trophy for the school.”

The teams first state game is on Friday, May 24, against Garfield at the Regional Athletic Complex. Come support the team!
