Playoff Game Number 1 Is a Win!

League champions, Prairie High School Girls soccer, played the first state playoff game on October 30. The lady falcons took the victory against Timberline High School at Prairie’s home turf winning 5-1.

Junior, Maya Davis, had two goals, one in the first half and one in the second half with 22 minutes left in the game. Davis also had two assists, each to sophomore, Alyssa Talkington. Going into the game, Davis said she felt confident. At half, the score was 2-1, but Davis said during the game the Falcons were, “Doing pretty well and with every goal scored there was more energy. By the end we were playing good soccer.”

Other scorers include sophomore, Alyssa Talkington, with with the first goal 38 minutes into the game and another in the second half, and junior, Paige Darley, with one goal in the second half. At halftime, the score was 2-1 with Prairie in the lead.

Co-captain and senior, Malaika Quigley, had one assist to Davis. She felt, “really good” about the game. Quigley’s objective for her last year playing high school soccer is to, “make it farther than last year.”

If Prairie wins their next game against Bonney Lake, the Falcons will host the first round of state games.
