The Prairie Boys Baseball team’s season came to an end after a 2-1 defeat to Kelso in their district playoff match, Wednesday, May 9th.

The game was a very close affair, with Kelso winning on a walkoff. Prairie junior, Connor Smith batted 1-3 with the Falcons lone RBI in the game. Blake Robb pitched 5 innings and had 7 strikeouts and 0 earned runs. Connor Smith said after the game that it was a disappointing way to end the season, “I thought we played really well, our pitching was solid and so was our defense, a couple more hits and we might’ve won the game”. The junior outfielder will be back next year as a leader for his senior year.

Another junior outfielder, Ethan McClintock went 1-3 on the day. “It sucks we had to lose the way we did. I thought our season got better the further we went, hopefully we can carry our momentum into next year”. Ethan will also be back next year as a leader of the team.

With the seasons end, the Falcons finished with an overall record of 8-15, and a 6-9 league record, which earned them 4th place in the 3A GSHL.
